Former ENTWINE Keyboardist Explains Departure

December 11, 2006

Keyboardist Riitta Heikkonen has issued a statement explaining her decision to leave Finnish gothic rock act ENTWINE. It reads as follows:

"For the past two years I haven't had enough time for ENTWINE because of my personal life. I feel like during that time I grew apart from this band. And now I came to a situation where I needed to make a choice about my future.

"I've played keys in ENTWINE for eight years. During that time ENTWINE has made my life more colorful. We've gone through wonderful trips and gigs together. As much as I'd love to, I don't see myself behind the keys in the future. It's so hard to let go, but sometimes you need to go through hard choices. I'm sorry, but this is the end of my road with this band.

"From the bottom of my heart I want to thank ENTWINE's guys, all the people we've worked with and our dear fans. You'll always whisper in my heart. With wistful mind I'll cherish our moments."

As previously reported, ENTWINE has lined up the following dates during the coming months:

Dec. 15 - Madrid, SPA @ Sala Caracol
Dec. 16 - Barcelona, SPA @ Sala Mephisto
Dec. 30 - Tampere, FIN @ Klubi
Jan. 11 - Helsinki, FIN @ Tavastia
Jan. 19 - Mikkeli, FIN @ Kulttuurikeskus Töpäri
Feb. 03 - Väärä, FIN @ Tuomio Haapavesi
Feb. 23 - Ähtäri, FIN @B-52

ENTWINE's second single, "Chameleon Halo", from the band's fifth studio album, "Fatal Design", entered the national chart in the group's home country at position No. 15. The single contains the title cut backed with an unreleased song called "In Delight", an outtake from the "Fatal Design" sessions.

ENTWINE has posted the video for its song "Surrender" at this location. The clip was shot with director Markus Nieminen of Routafilmi AB.

"Fatal Design" was released in September in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux via Century Media Records through a licensing deal with Spinefarm Records. The CD was recorded at Petrax and Groveland studios by ENTWINE drummer Aksu Hanttu and producer Janne Joutsenniemi (STONE, SUBURBAN TRIBE). The album was mixed at Finnvox by Mikko Karmila (NIGHTWISH, CHILDREN OF BODOM).
